Project Brief
Alef Education was seeking a partner to develop digital math lessons aligned with the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). These lessons were to be tailored to meet specific client requirements utilizing different print math programs. Therefore, the content had to be customized to support the specific needs of each program. To be useful on their platform, the content needed to be no more than 20 minutes per lesson, engaging, and providing reliable assessment data. Each Learning Object (LO) is a digital “lessonlet” that will be used in a single period. The lessons are built for self-study by an audience, including a high number of below-level ELLs. Lessons should seek to focus mainly on ways the digital content can scaffold the concepts—common misconceptions, vocabulary, and unfolding key concepts.
The scope for this project includes the following tasks:
- Authoring for content inside the HTML template pages, inclusive of both writing and photo/video research
- Providing editorial review on alphas (HTML5)
- Authoring approximately 1,300 total assessment items, serving as formative interim assessment checkpoints
- Easy, Medium, Difficult (EMD) category pools
- One EMD grouping per pool
