Meet the CSA Team: Lisa Perreault

Interviewer: What is your name?

Lisa: Lisa Perreault

Interviewer: What is your position at CSA?

Lisa: Professional Learning Manager

Interviewer: What does that position entail?

Lisa: As a Professional Learning Manager, I help with RFPs, PD workshops and training sessions (both in person and online), and classroom observations and data collection. I also lead teams with curriculum writing, development, and editing content.

Interviewer: What is the best part of your job?

Lisa: I love creating new curriculum, and then seeing it come to life on an LMS, a worktext, a video, or a module! I wrote several scripts during the COVID pandemic for a video series for Chicago Public Schools, and it was so amazing to see those important messages for struggling families and communities materialize on screen.

Interviewer: What do you wish people knew about your work at CSA?

Lisa: I don’t think people realize how much work it takes behind the scenes to create curriculum or professional development for school districts. It takes a tremendous amount of collaboration and time.

Interviewer: What was the highlight of your classroom experience?

Lisa: The most rewarding part of my classroom experience was working as a literacy specialist with students of all learning and developmental levels, from GATE to IEP programs. By working with small groups, I was able to make a meaningful impact on their growth in reading and comprehension, which was incredibly fulfilling.

Interviewer: What do you wish schools focused on more in terms of education and why?

Lisa: I think schools should focus more on teaching critical thinking and emotional intelligence. Both of these areas would help foster well-rounded individuals who are not only academically strong but also resilient, adaptable, and capable of navigating life’s challenges.

Interviewer: What are three interesting facts about you?

Lisa: I have lived in six different states (New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Massachusetts, Montana, and Colorado). I love to crochet, read good books, and travel! I am an avid walker, my birthday falls on Thanksgiving every four years, and I love going to the movies (especially horror films)!
