Christine Ruiz

Director, Science and SEL

With 15 years of experience in developing and publishing science programs, Christine Ruiz holds the position of Director of Science and SEL at CSA Education. She oversees all K–12 Science editorial projects, fulfills all contractual obligations with clients, and ensures delivery of all materials on time and on budget. She maintains the accuracy of all projects and materials, keeps them consistent, and makes sure they adhere to all client-specified guidelines.

Like so many at CSA Education, Christine began her career in education as a teacher. Starting in the classroom as a third-grade teacher, she mastered her skills in behavior management, student assessment, lesson plan and curriculum development. When she left the classroom, she joined Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and grew within the company to become Senior Learning Architect. 

Milestone highlights in Christine’s career include:

  • Acting as Lead Developer for several science programs, such as ScienceFusion, Science Dimensions, and Into Science in both print and digital format
  • Designing and developing a product that became the basis of the National Science program for all elementary Grades K–5 
  • Leading the development and implementation of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) into the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Science curriculum 
  • Script writing and editing for Math and Science K–5 digital products
  • Collaborating on and authoring a revised food safety program with the National Restaurant Association

Christine received both her Bachelor of Education degree and her Master of Education degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. Her skills stretch from Curriculum Development and eLearning to Adobe Incopy/IPS and Habitat/Inkling. She loves the Atlanta Braves and tries to catch a game whenever she can. Christine is also one of the biggest Disney fans out there. Her two favorite movies are Toy Story and Tangled.
