As CSA Education’s Associate Director of Editorial Services, Jen is charged with managing and growing our Editorial Services team. She works with our internal project teams and freelancers to coordinate Copyediting, Proofreading, Fact-Checking, Cold Read/Cold Solve, Indexing, Alt Text Writing, and Rights & Permissions needs. CSA relies on her organizational skills and attention to detail to help the project teams stay on schedule and on budget.

With thirty years of experience in the publishing industry, Jen has gained a strong reputation from her extensive background in project management, writing, copyediting, and proofreading in print and digital environments. As an Editor-in-Chief and Content Project Manager, she managed the end-to-end process for print and digital magazines and textbooks and supplements from manuscript to final files, working with large teams of publishers, authors, researchers, and design teams, in a multi-location and time zone environment. 

 Highlights in Jen’s career include the following:

• Vetting and onboarding freelancers for a wide variety of editorial tasks, and supporting them throughout the course of a project by answering queries while maintaining and updating Style Guides and Checklists
• Developing and executing project plans, including schedules with milestones and costs based on manuscript review and publisher requirements/approvals
• Managing print and digital projects for a leading publisher of higher-ed textbooks and online content for instructors and students
• Coordinating the design process with local and offshore teams while managing all freelancers, researchers, artists, and compositors to meet requirements and deadlines
• Researching, writing, and editing engaging, relevant content for blogs and press releases with SEO specifically tailored to clients’ practice areas to drive traffic to their websites

Jen holds a BA in Public Relations from Illinois State University. She is also proficient at desktop publishing using Microsoft Word, Google Workspace, and Adobe Acrobat, InCopy, and PowerPoint.

Jen has a twin sister, but her parents did not know they were having twins until Jen was born! She has two teenage daughters who keep her on her toes, and she enjoys photography and tackling word puzzles in her free time.
