As CSA Education’s Executive Editorial Manager of Science, Kevin is responsible for overseeing, developing, and editing K–12 Science projects for CSA. He oversees the day-to-day management of projects, including managing internal staff and independent contractors, and provides quality materials that are accurate, consistent, and adhere to client-specified rules and guidelines.

Kevin has both high-school Science classroom experience as well as expertise in Science content and assessment development. With a mission to increase access to high-quality assessment data, Kevin is a motivated self-starter who excels in using assessment data to improve instructional strategies. As a dedicated leader, Kevin has developed and maintained training materials to assist teams of writers and editors in item development. Kevin’s solutions-oriented thinking is a great asset to his work at CSA.

Highlights from Kevin’s career include the following:

  • Providing state-level leadership in implementing rigorous Science and STEM curriculum, instruction, and assessment
  • Facilitating educator trainings that equip them to analyze assessment data and refine instructional strategies
  • Leading the development and on-time delivery of outstanding technology-enhanced assessments for State Education Agencies
  • Extracting and purifying patient mRNA to use in immunotherapy treatments of HIV and renal cell carcinoma
  • Delivering exceptional Chemistry, Earth Science, and Physical Science instruction that exceeded statewide standards

Kevin earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Structural Biochemistry from North Carolina State University, and his Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. 

When he’s not exploring the digital world, Kevin enjoys hiking the trails of North Carolina—always seeking out breathtaking views. A passionate reader, he devours everything from thrilling mysteries to classic science-fiction novels. He also enjoys analyzing films and discussing his favorite directors and actors with friends. In his downtime, Kevin can be found competing with his nieces and nephew in the latest racing video game.
