Lori Carson

Senior Director, Professional Learning

As Senior Director of Professional Learning, Lori is responsible for department oversight and operations across multiple subject areas. Lori provides guidance to Professional Learning Managers on cross-departmental collaboration, process, workflow, client relations, and staff management. She manages Professional Learning department heads and makes sure their teams are fulfilling contractual obligations and delivering service on time, on budget, and up to our high-quality standards. 

Lori has more than 15 years of classroom experience as a middle-school Math teacher, where she taught 6th and 7th grade Math and achieved National Board Certification in Middle School Mathematics. After teaching, Lori shifted her focus to professional learning where she developed, executed, and supported professional development plans throughout the school year. She has managed multiple accounts of various sizes, overseeing project management for initiatives totaling over $1M. For more than a decade, Lori has cultivated long-term relationships with school and district partners. 

Highlights from Lori’s career include the following:

  • Spearheading the implementation of new content in major school districts
  • Developing and delivering web-based professional development programs tailored to district needs
  • Providing comprehensive Math and Reading professional development to educators at both building and district levels
  • Teaching 6th and 7th grade Math and achieving National Board Certification in Middle School Math

Lori earned her BA in Education with a focus on middle-grade Mathematics from High Point University in North Carolina. 

Lori is a busy wife and mom to a teenage boy, twin tween girls, and two dogs. She loves sports, especially volleyball and basketball. Lori also enjoys reading and cooking, loves vacationing, and being on any lake, pool, or beach.
