As President of the Zia Learning brand, Robin is responsible for the professional learning department by overseeing operations to achieve the CEO’s vision for the company, guiding its strategic vision, and overseeing its implementation. Robin provides guidance to the professional learning teams regarding project planning, budgets, client relations, and staff management. Robin is responsible for making sure contractual obligations with clients are fulfilled.
With more than 20 years of experience in public education, Robin is proud to have served as a classroom teacher, school-level director, and district-level official for Chicago Public Schools. Her work centers around using digital learning to address the diverse needs of today’s students. Her work has been featured in major publications, including eSchool News, Chicago Tribune, the Learning Counsel, DLAC, ISTE, Fortune Magazine, and Ed Reformer.
Highlights from Robin’s career include the following:
- Developing one of the largest online and blended learning programs in the nation
- Growing the Chicago Public Schools online and blended school program from 500 students to over 5,000
- Increasing the pass rates for CPS online and blended school program from 38% to over 80% through the development and implementation of a teacher professional development and student skills program
- Developing a teacher professional development and student skills program that is now in use in schools across the United States
Robin earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from New Mexico State University and her Master’s degree in History Secondary Education from the University of Illinois.
Raised on a small farm in New Mexico, Robin is the proud mom of three kids. Robin has a passion for music and participated in both the high school band and show choir. Robin has also attended over 300 concerts spanning all genres of music!
