Pronouns: she/her
Robin Gonzales is President of BetterLesson Learning, a division of CSA Education, and Founder and President of Zia Learning. With more than 25 years of experience in public education, professional learning, curriculum, and education innovation, Robin leads CSA’s School Solutions work—bringing together curriculum and solution design, professional learning, implementation, and next-generation teaching and learning. She works alongside school districts and state education agencies to move from strategy and curriculum design to successful classroom implementation, helping ensure that high-quality instructional solutions are supported by the professional learning, coaching, and systems educators need to create meaningful and sustainable change.
Robin began her career as a classroom teacher with Chicago Public Schools and went on to serve in school- and district-level leadership, including as CPS Director of Online and Digital Learning. An early pioneer in online, blended, and personalized learning, she developed one of the nation’s earliest large-scale blended learning programs and helped grow CPS online and blended learning from approximately 500 to more than 5,000 students while dramatically improving student success through intentional educator professional development and student supports. Since founding Zia Learning in 2011, Robin has continued this work with some of the nation’s largest school systems, serving as a strategic thought partner in professional learning, instructional implementation, digital transformation, and large-scale educational change.
Today, Robin brings that experience to her leadership of BetterLesson Learning and CSA School Solutions, connecting the full continuum from research and solution design to curriculum development, professional learning, coaching, implementation, and measurable impact. Her work focuses on helping education systems translate ambitious ideas into authentic classroom practice, with particular expertise in next-generation instructional models, digital and blended learning, educator development, and the ethical and effective use of artificial intelligence in education. Throughout her career, Robin has remained focused on a central belief: lasting innovation happens when educators are given not only great tools and high-quality curriculum, but also the professional learning, support, and capacity to use them successfully.
