Scottie Altland

As CSA Education’s Director of Alignment Services, Scottie is responsible for overseeing our Alignment Services department. She manages projects across all disciplines involving alignments to various sets of educational standards. Scottie interacts with clients, freelancers, and internal staff to ensure that all projects are completed to client specifications.
Scottie is an accomplished and highly analytical curriculum professional with extensive experience overseeing curriculum design from initial concept through completion for PK–12 mathematics, ELA, and postsecondary career training. From formulating instructions, assessments, and lesson activities to managing curriculum development projects and serving on the leadership team of an educational vendor, Scottie has demonstrated her industry expertise, flexibility, and critical thinking.
Highlights from Scottie’s career include the following:
- Leading development of a wide variety of instructional materials for K–12 with a focus on culturally responsive teaching practices, diverse learning needs, and student engagement
- Overseeing the mapping and alignment of educational standards to content
- Managing project plans to ensure on-time completion and QA standards of assigned projects and courses
- Providing in-service training designed to support implementation of newly developed or revised curricula
- Planning and developing standards, processes, and goals to ensure alignment, accuracy, and quality
Scottie earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Penn State University, and her Masters of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Loyola University, Maryland. She also has an Instructional Design certificate from the University of Wisconsin, Stout, and her K–6 Pennsylvania certificate from Penn State University.
Scottie is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys hiking, kayaking, biking, skiing, and daily walks with her dog. She also enjoys yoga and meditation practice and has completed her 250-hour yoga teaching training. Scottie is part of another CSA organization (Community Supported Agriculture) and the produce shares keep her cooking an “exercise in creativity”!
