Alignment Manager, Humanities

As Alignment Manager, Eric manages projects, primarily in Humanities, that involve alignments to various sets of educational standards. He interacts with both clients and freelancers to ensure project details are clear, and that projects are completed to client specifications. 

Before joining CSA, Eric worked on many marketing and editorial projects. He excels in copyediting, fact-checking, and writing, which he has done for various student- and teacher-facing editorial materials. Eric’s editorial expertise has contributed to his success in CSA’s Alignment Services department. Highlights from Eric’s career include the following:

  • Managing projects submitted to the Alignment Services department
  • Communicating with and editing the work of freelance correlators to ensure work is done to client specifications
  • Routinely completing correlations for varied standard sets and subject areas
  • Writing and editing standards-based, text-dependent assessment items, decodable stories, and various elements of ELA instructional materials
  • Executing copyediting and fact-checking projects for national publications 

Eric graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor’s Degree in News–Editorial Journalism and expertise in AP and Chicago style.

Eric has played ice hockey since he was five years old, starting in the junior leagues, playing defense for his college team, and in the prestigious Silver Stick Tournament in Toronto, Canada. He still plays defense on a city league team with friends.
