As CSA Education’s Accounting & Operations Coordinator, Shanell serves as a vital cross-departmental link, managing day-to-day data entry within CSA’s financial systems, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, and performing monthly reconciliations to ensure financial data integrity. Shanell also lends her sharp organizational skills to contract and compliance oversight, while facilitating internal IT and systems support to keep our remote team seamlessly connected.

Shanell’s background includes experience across finance, business operations, and education. She has developed a unique blend of people skills and analytical thinking. Her proven track record of managing complex data and supporting diverse teams directly aligns with her work at CSA. 

Highlights from Shanell’s career include the following:

• Building and maintaining advanced reports utilizing Excel and Power BI to monitor financial performance and safeguard data accuracy. 
• Designing and implementing internal tracking systems that optimize operational workflows, improve team efficiency, and simplify compliance reporting. 
• Serving as a Data & Operations Lead within public education, successfully coordinating cross-functional communication and documentation between leadership, staff, and external stakeholders.
• Managing day-to-day accounting workflows, including the timely processing of transactions, invoice tracking, and month-end close activities. 
• Spearheading direct communication with clients to resolve billing discrepancies and provide transparent financial and account status updates. 

Shanell has earned her Bachelor of Science degree as well as her MBA in Accounting & Data Strategy.

Outside of work, Shanell is a mother of two, a role that has allowed her to master the art of multitasking and staying organized under pressure. A former dancer and cheer coach, she maintains a healthy competitive spirit today by diving into trivia, games, and any challenge that involves strategy. To unwind, Shanell loves getting lost in a good true crime documentary, or traveling to discover hidden gems like a great local restaurant, museum, or attraction.
