Interviewer: What is your name?

Cathy: Cathy Castle

Interviewer: What is your position at CSA?

Cathy: Project Manager

Interviewer: What does that position entail?

Cathy: As a Project Manager, my role is to work with both the client teams and the internal CSA teams to ensure that projects run smoothly, that workflows and schedules are followed, and that potential problems are anticipated as much as possible and solved quickly.

Interviewer: How did you become a part of CSA?

Cathy: Publishing is a small world, and you often meet up with people you worked with in the past under different circumstances. I was lucky to work with Lisa Panka in “another life” and was fortunate to reconnect with her through CSA.

Interviewer: What is the best part of your job?

Cathy: The best part of my job is knowing that, in some way, I have a role in creating tools to help children learn.

Interviewer: What do you wish people knew about your work at CSA?

Cathy: I wish people knew that the CSA team is like a big family and that everyone works hard to go above and beyond the client’s expectations while taking into consideration the effect on the entire CSA staff.

Interviewer: What do you wish schools focused on more in terms of education and why?

Cathy: In today’s society, I wish schools could do more to address the act of bullying and being bullied. While I don’t agree that schools should take the place of the parents in teaching children right from wrong, I really think that conversations in the classroom could help some children to not feel so alone if they are being bullied or could help other students recognize the signs and to step in when they see bullying take place.

Interviewer: What are three interesting facts about you?

Cathy: I LOVE the Educational Publishing business. I am always learning something new. Like many people say, “I feel it has been a good day if I learned something new.” I am an avid crafter. My office and garage look like mini craft stores. That means I am always prepared to be creative when the mood hits me. I love the beach. I don’t like getting into the water, but I just feel at peace when I am sitting on the beach and listening to the waves. It is where I go to recharge.
